About Ogaga Asamaige

I’m Ogaga Asamaige, a commercial and editorial photographer based in Lagos, Nigeria.

I photograph people for campaigns, editorials, album covers and portraits. What interests me most is getting beyond the surface. I want a photograph to feel specific to the person in it, not like an image that could have been made of anyone. Sometimes that takes direction. Sometimes it means being quiet and letting the moment happen.

Lagos is in everything I make. Its colour, pace and confidence have shaped the way I see, especially the way people present themselves. I don’t use the city as a backdrop. It is part of the work, and I carry that point of view with me wherever I shoot.

I enjoy working with designers, musicians, brands, publications and creative teams who care about what they are making. I like a strong idea, honest collaboration and enough trust to find something better than what we planned.

I take commissions across Nigeria and internationally.
